Traumatic Brain Injury — The Power to Change a Life Part 2 of 3

Posted by secondchancetolive on June 1, 2009

Please read Part 1 and Part 3 for context. Thank you.

My head / brain injury has equipped me — along with my educational and experiential back ground — to fulfill a unique roll of service to my world. My circumstances have given meaning to my life.

You may be asking yourself, “What has this got to do with me?” Well I have some extradorinary news for you my friend. Your experience as a brain injury survivor or a person living with another kind of disability equips you to fill a unique roll to your world. If you are living with some one with a traumatic brain injury or love some one with a traumatic brain injury or another kind of disability you too have been equipped to encourage, motivate and empower. Your have been given an opportunity.

Be encouraged my friend because you can give something that people with out your experience can not offer. Consequently, you can provide a message of hope. You have light which in turn can light someone’s candle. You can be an ambassador of hope. You can be the answer to someone’s prayers.

You may say to yourself, ” I do not have anything to give — that anyone would want”. Trust me I have been there too. For many years I felt like some one all dressed up with no where to go. No one seemed to want what I had to give. Consequently I stayed discouraged and disillusioned until a friend suggested that I create a web log. With his encouragement I took the step of faith and created Second Chance to Live on February 6, 2007. I am so glad that I took that step of faith.

And now for Part 3.
