I found hope when… Part 1 of 2

Posted by Second Chance to Live on August 28, 2009

Hello and welcome back to Second Chance to Live my friend. I am happy to see that you decided to stop by to visit with me. Over the past 20 days or so I have written and published a 10 part series: Learning to Trust.

With in that series I shared with you a series you of awareness’s that brought me to a place of surrender. In that place of surrender, I shared with you that I was encouraged to complete a 4th step inventory to identify patterns in my relationships.

Through completing a 5th Step with my sponsor I began to realize what impeded my relationships and my inability to trust.

My 4th and 5th Step initiated a whole new way of living for me. My 4th and 5th Step helped me to realize that I set myself up to experience abandonment because of my inability to trust. My 4th and 5th Step empowered me to own my feelings of alienation and isolation.

By owning my experience of abandonment as well as my feelings of alienation and isolation — rather than looking to blame anyone for my experience: including myself –- I found hope. I found that hope became real to me when I realized that I had the power to choose.

Hope became practical and real to me when I realized that I had the power to choose.

I began to experience hope because I realized that I could change the way in which I experienced life.

Please read Part 2 for context. Thank you.
