My name is Craig J. Phillips MRC, BA. I am an educational consultant, an author and a motivational speaker with a message of encouragement, empowerment, inspiration and hope for anyone who has been impacted by a brain injury.
On February 6, 2007 I created Second Chance to Live to share my experience, strength and hope through the principles and strategies that have enabled me to succeed far beyond all reasonable expectations. To date I have written a total of 670 articles for Second Chance to Live. Please see my Site Map
Per my experience, I sustained a severe brain injury with right frontal lobe damage, a severe brain contusion with brain stem involvement in 1967 when I was 10 years old. I remained in a coma for 3 weeks.
Although I was not expected to live or succeed beyond high school academically, I went on to obtain both my bachelor of arts and my master’s degree. Please see my Qualifications Page

Because our circumstances are not meant to keep us down, but they are meant to build us up!
“If you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams and endeavor to live the life that you have imagined…you will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” Henry David Thoreau
“Insist on yourself, never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another, you only have an extemporaneous half-possession…Do that which is assigned to you and you can not hope too much or dare too much.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
